The comedians milling around the Virgil’s green room ask me when I’m up. They’re mostly women and seem to know one another.
“Oh I’m not,” I say. “I’m here to interview Sweet Beth Stelling, because she loves bagels, good theatre, good puns, and her mom.”
Beth walks in and everyone swarms around her. She moves through greetings quickly, then plops onto a ripped up pleather sofa, while I sit on a wooden side table covered in old flyers.
