Classical Revolution is a chamber music organization founded in 2006 by violist Charith Premawardhana. With its mission of performing “chamber music for the people” by holding concerts in casual atmospheres, it has spread like wildfire beyond its first shows at the Revolution Café in San Francisco. Ampersand reporter Elizabeth Nonemaker spoke with Helix Collective, the ensemble that runs the L.A. chapter, about their thoughts on the organization and the culture surrounding classical music.
